MATERIALS CURATION Future Materials Lab by Iva Bastalová

Publication date: 17.06.2026

The exhibition focuses on presenting sustainable materials made from natural or recycled or upcycled sources from all around the world. The aim is to inspire architects, designers, but also manufacturers and processors to take a new look at creation and show where the field of architecture and design can move in the near and more distant future. The exhibition opens up questions of responsible use of resources, circular economy and reducing the environmental footprint.

The presented materials reflects current developments in the field of innovation - from traditional natural raw materials in modern processing to experimental materials created from waste, such as textiles, plastics, wood, paper or food leftovers.
More than 30 types of different materials will be exhibited - over 100 samples in total - giving visitors a detailed insight into the structure, properties, and potential practical applications of each solution.

The exhibition will be divided into four thematic sections:

– INTERIOR
Here you will find materials for furniture production, wall covering variants and more.

– CONSTRUCTION
This section will present various types of insulation, building and structural materials.

– MADE LOCALLY IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC
The most sustainable option is materials locally processed from waste.

– SPECIAL
A section focused on materials created from food waste.

The exhibition includes a clear description, name and origin of the material.
